Non-profit organizations (NPOs) such as youth groups and sports clubs often require sponsorship funding to function.
A good example of a sponsorship campaign was held by the City of Leduc, in Alberta, Canada. Leduc developed an sponsorship campaign of naming rights for their huge (309,000 sq. ft.) activity and sports center, built in 2009. According to Taylor Stiles, Community Development Coordinator, Recreation for the City of Leduc, the campaign was fully subscribed. Stiles made these remarks in a forum for community groups held November 3, 2011.
